Cynthia Goodwin Smith holds BS and MS degrees in Social Work and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 25 years’ experience. She worked as a therapist with at-risk children and their families, and as a Case Manager for a Mental Health Provider. She authored several articles for her company’s newsletter. She also has over 15 years’ experience as a personal life coach for women teaching them to identify, express, and achieve their inner most desires, goals, dreams, and aspirations. Cynthia is a prayer team leader at her church where she authored a Lenten daily devotional titled “Living Water”. For the past five years, she has been a Pastoral Care Volunteer at a major Medical and Trauma Center.
While reading to her grandson one day, he asked ‘Where is God?’ This compelled her to apply her experience, and with God’s help, authored her first book to help children and their parents answer this meaningful question.
Cynthia received Third Place for the North Texas Book Festival Book Award in April 2019. Gary LaRonde was born in Canada and moved to Texas on an athletic scholarship to the University of Texas at Arlington. After many years of drawing as a hobby, Gary decided to begin illustrating children’s books. In the early 1990’s, he began working with various publishing houses and self-publishing authors and continues to work on projects. Gary first honed his skills as an artist at a very young age. He remembers drawing caricatures at the kitchen table while his mom was busy baking blueberry pies. He works in mixed media art and is beginning to dabble in the world of acrylics.
Gary is currently working on writing and illustrating his own children’s stories, which will be published in the near future. Gary presently lives in Kansas with his lovely and supportive wife, Dawn. He has two sons, Brandon and Shane, who live in Texas. His stepson Trevor Crawford and his wife, Shannon, have two precious children: Noah and Ivy, who also reside in Texas. Their support and encouragement are never-ending and is much appreciated.
